A bit about Joe Hecker

Joe Hecker has been teaching literature, creative writing and argumentative writing in public high schools for 32 years. During that time he has also been writing poetry, short stories, longer fiction pieces, and essays. He never took the time to send much out because, frankly, teaching is hard and after reading a stack of student essays and commenting on them, Joe typically turns to his own reading and writing instead of the arduous and often unrewarding task of soliciting interest in what he has written; however, as Joe nears the end of his teaching career, he has decided to organize, polish and post his work. Joe has also recently discovered the art of writing about himself in the third person.
